Nurturing the Nature of Arizona
Liberty Wildlife nurtures the nature of Arizona: providing quality wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, natural history education, conservation services for the community, and leading by example to demonstrate environmental sustainability in our community. As a leader in wildlife protection and preservation, Liberty Wildlife has had a profound impact on the lives of native animals, caring for over 11,000 in 2022 alone. Through oversight, stewardship, and a strong commitment to educational outreach, Liberty Wildlife is also a leader in environmental education providing over 1300 programs/year to K-12 youth and adults in Arizona.

Environmental Science Education Program
We present at local public, charter, and private schools, and host tour groups on our campus from various schools, presenting a STEM-based curriculum about wildlife and the environment. We utilize our non-releasable wildlife ambassadors to teach the history and role in the environment of specific wildlife species: including birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and even insects and arachnids. The resulting programs are highly engaging for youth, who may have limited exposure to STEM subjects in a practical setting. Liberty Wildlife schedules most school tours and programs on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year; with public visiting hours on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. We also offer weekend programs for the community, including monthly guided hikes along the along the Rio Salado, on topics that include: local flora and fauna, migratory bird talks, the role of beavers and other native mammal wildlife in the riparian landscape, and more.
Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation
Liberty Wildlife provides immediate emergency response to rescue, transport and care for orphaned, ill, and injured animals. Through a hotline to request a rescue team, as well as our onsite in-take window, Liberty Wildlife is serving the needs of caring individuals throughout the state of Arizona.
Once at our facility, our Medical Care team of trained volunteer veterinarians and vet techs care for the animals through triage and assessment of the animals’ needs. That care may include x-rays, surgery, special diets, addition of fluids or even blood transfusions. Many baby or young orphaned animals may require months of care until they are able to be released back into the wild.
Some imprinted or injured animals cannot be released. They may then serve as foster parents for orphaned wildlife. Liberty Wildlife has been able to maintain a better than average success rate in the recovery and release of wildlife back to their natural environment.
